Child Kidnapping In Bintan Is A Hoax, Riau Police Ask Residents Not To Worry And Filter Circulating Issues First
RIAU - The Riau Islands (Kepri) Regional Police appealed to the public not to panic regarding the rampant issue of child kidnapping which has recently been circulating widely on social media.
The Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Riau Islands Police, Kombes Jefri Siagian, said that the issue of child abduction was just an issue because there had been no official report regarding this information.
"We must first confirm according to the facts whether there is an abduction case, because until now there have been no reports. But so that this issue does not spread, we must ensure that parents do not panic," he said in Batam, Riau Islands, Thursday, February 2, as reported by Antara.
Jefri also hopes that parents will participate in maintaining and monitoring all their children's activities, both while at school and in the environment where they play.
"This means that parental supervision really needs to be improved and don't panic over issues that are not necessarily true," he said.
