The 2019 RI Corruption Perception Index Is At 40 To 34 Of 2022, Novel Baswedan Asks Member Of The House Of Representatives Supporting Firli Cs Not Postponed
JAKARTA - Former senior KPK investigator Novel Baswedan assessed that the revision of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Law in 2019 resulted in the decline in Indonesia's Corruption Perception Index (GPA) in 2022.
Novel said that when he was still a KPK employee in 2019, RI's GPA was at 40. However, Indonesia's GPA in 2022 did not get better, it dropped drastically, down points from the previous year at 34.
"The largest factor in Indonesia's GPA is in free fall (in 2019 -40, now 2022 -34)," Novel said on his Twitter account, @nazaqistsha, Wednesday, February 1.
Novel also brought up a number of leaders and former KPK officials involved in ethical violations to become other factors for the 2022 Indonesian GPA to fall.
One of them is still fresh in mind, former KPK leader Lili Pintauli is suspected of receiving gratuities in the form of hotel accommodation to tickets to watch the Mandalika MotoGP for the 2022 event.
Lili was also recorded as being proven to have violated ethics in communicating with the litigants at the KPK, namely the former Mayor of Tanjung Balai North Sumatra, M Syahrial.
Syahrial has been thrown into prison for being proven and guilty of bribing former KPK investigator, AKP Stepanus Robin Pattuju. In addition, Syahrial was also found guilty of bribing Rp100 million from the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Tanjungbalai City, Yusmada.
"Because the revision of the KPK Law and the KPK leadership are reckless," said Novel.
He asked DPR members who support the policies of KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri so far, not to be silent about the IPK RI score in 2022 which is decreasing from 2019.
"Even then, it is still being helped because last year the government made a policy of ease of doing business. If this is the case, where are the members of the legislature supporting Firli cs?" Novel asked.
As previously reported, former KPK investigator Yudi Purnomo Harahap also criticized RI's GPA in 2022 which had dropped drastically. The Deputy for Prevention of the KPK, Pahala Nainggolan, was shocked to learn about this.
Pahala admitted that he was surprised when he learned that Indonesia's 2022 GPA information fell four points at 34. Yudi responded to the news, which was summarized in the online news.
"Why are you surprised, sir? As an official and still a person in the KPK, you can predict something like this will happen. Among other things, because of the current revision of the KPK Law, the decline in public trust in the KPK from various surveys, TWK 57 KPK employees, KPK leaders are subject to adult ethics etc," Yudi wrote via his Twitter account, @yudiharahap46, Wednesday, February 1.
