Sudah Diturap Jalan Cikarang Bekasi Laut Tetap Amblas 25 Meter, Pemkab Bekasi Melakukan Perbaikan
JABAR - The Bekasi Regency Government repaired a collapsed road on the Cikarang Bekasi Laut (CBL) section, Muktiwari Village, Cibitung District. The road collapsed because the contour was unstable plus it was right on the riverbank.
"As soon as we get reports from the public regarding the collapsed road in CBL, we go straight to the location to make repairs," said Head of the Bekasi Regency Water Resources, Highways, and Construction Development Office Henri Lincoln in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, Wednesday, February 1, confiscated by Antara.
He explained that the 25-meter-long collapse of the CBL road had occurred since last week. As a result, almost half of the road collapsed in community activities, including traffic flow, which became disrupted.
Henri said that his party deployed a number of heavy equipment to repair collapsed roads, including the installation of wire gabions containing rock materials to strengthen the foundation of embankments that borders directly to the river flow.
"In addition to repairing collapsed roads, the local government will also carry out repair work along the CBL road gradually this year," he said.
The Head of Cibitung Sub-district, Encun Sunarto, admitted that this road section is prone to collapse even though the concrete stakes have been installed on the side of the road bordering the river.
"Indeed, the contour was unstable, so when it collapsed, the sheet pile also shifted. Thank God the relevant agencies responded quickly by immediately making improvements," he said.
He said that road landslides in this section are often complained of by the public considering that the road is the main access to residents' activities. This improvement is expected to be a solution to overcome public complaints.
Encun appealed to road users to be careful when driving during the repair process. "For the time being, take turns while crossing the collapsed road which is being repaired. Hopefully it can be completed quickly and the entire road can be passed again," he concluded.
