LSI Survey: Most Elected Political Parties Still PDIP, 26.7 PerCENT Respondents Do Not Determine An Option

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) released a poll on public support for political parties (political parties) to be elected in the 2024 legislative elections (Pileg).

LSI Executive Director Djayadi Hanan said that it turned out that his party found that 26.7 percent of the constituents had not yet made their choice in the candidate for council members ahead of one year of voting.

"We found quite a number who have not made a choice, there are 27 percent. Usually the numbers are less, below 20 percent," he said in a virtual survey presentation, Sunday, January 22.

"Maybe it's because the beginning of the year and just announced the parties that have officially become election participants, so the public may reassess," continued Djayadi.

Meanwhile, based on party order. LSI revealed that PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) became the largest political party chosen by 21.9 percent of respondents.

The second place is Gerindra with 12.1 percent support, Democrats 7.1 percent, Golkar 6.7 percent, NasDem 5 percent, PKS 5 percent, Perindo 4.8 percent, PKB 4.7 percent.

Meanwhile, other parties received support below 4 percent or below the parliamentary threshold or the 2024 election parliamentary threshold, namely PPP, Garuda Party, PAN, Ummat Party, Hanura Party, Labor Party, PBB, PSI, Gelora Party, and PKN.

"Regarding the party's choice, in terms of party order, there have not been many changes from the previous LSI survey, it is also possible for other surveys. In general, those who conduct assessments are not much different from the results we have obtained so far," said Djayadi.

For information, this survey was conducted by telephone on 7-11 January 2023. The population of this survey is Indonesian citizens aged 17 years and over or are married and have a telephone, about 83 percent of the total national population.

A total of 1221 respondents were selected by the random digit dialing (RDD) method. The survey margin of error with the sample size is estimated at 2.9 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.
