After The Menpora Implements President Jokowi's Directive, PT LIB Schedules A Meeting With Liga 2 Clubs
JAKARTA - PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) has scheduled a meeting with Liga 2 clubs. This meeting is to discuss the continuation of the fate of the competition.
Previously, PSSI and PT LIB had decided to stop the 2022/2023 Liga 2 competition. However, a number of clubs rejected the decision.
This polemic then caught the attention of President Joko Widodo. He then ordered the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali to find a way out.
Before long, the Menpora held a meeting with PSSI and PT LIB. During the meeting, it was agreed that a meeting would be held with the clubs to find the best solution.
Persipura Jayapura manager Yan Permenas Mandenas said the clubs participating in Liga 2 would hold a meeting to discuss the continuation of the League 2 competition on Tuesday, January 24.
"PT LIB has sent an invitation to us to meet to discuss the continuation of Liga 2 so we hope the meeting will be in line with expectations that the league will continue," he said, as reported by Antara, Saturday, January 21.
Persipura hopes that in the meeting PSSI and PT Liga Indonesia Baru (PT LIB) can provide the best solution for all Indonesian League 2 participating clubs.
"PT LIB must also be firm with regulations made if there are clubs that do not want to continue, they must definitely be eliminated because if PT LIB is firm, the Indonesian football public must also give a positive view of PT LIB," he said again.
He explained that the management of Persipura itself has not yet closed the players, even the team nicknamed Mutiara Hitam has also made a transfer process for two players, namely Boaz Solossa from PSS Sleman and Israel Wamiau from Persita Tangerang.
"We have held meetings and discussed with players and officials regarding the current conditions and the players want the league to run completely," concluded Yan Permenas.
