The Managing Director Of Ancol Said That The Formula E Circuit Land Made Ancol Parking Capacity Less Than 4,000 Cars

JAKARTA - President Director of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Winarto admitted that their land which is used as a Formula E circuit or the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC) has an impact on reducing land capacity in the Ancol tourist area.Initially, Member of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Wahyu Dewanto asked Winarto for an explanation regarding the plan to utilize the land for the Formula E circuit when the race was not used."Then about the circuit (JIEC). This is part of Ancol's attraction, isn't it? Or is this a stand-alone tenant? I think this is in your area," said Winarto in a working meeting with Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Thursday, January 19.Winarso replied that JIEC was built in the eastern part of the Ancol area. During the planning of Formula E, PT Jakarta Propertindo rented the east Ancol land for three years for the construction of an electric car racing circuit. In detail, Jakpro's 4-month circuit land will be leased in 2022, 1 month in 2023, and 1 month in 2024, for the implementation of Formula E for 3 consecutive years.Winarto said, due to the shift in land allocation in east Ancol to the circuit location, the parking capacity in the Ancol tourist area has decreased."We lost a large area of the circuit, which was very significant. Car parks were reduced to 4,000 cars," he said. The impact, continued Winarto, is that the Ancol area is now getting more congested. Many visitors park their vehicles on the road."People (visitors) enter the gate on Saturday-Sunday going to the east coast are already difficult. If you say, we need the land, sir, because Ancol is already crowded," he said.
