India Open 2023: It's Hard To Get Rid Of Jonathan Christie To Get Rid Of Chinese Representatives
JAKARTA - Indonesian men's singles, Jonatan Christie, managed to secure a ticket to the quarter-finals of the India Open 2023. The result was achieved after a long journey through three games against a Chinese representative.
In a performance in the round of 16, Thursday, January 19 at noon WIB, Jojo fought for 62 minutes to win over Zhao Jun Peng. The match was finally controlled by the Indonesian representative with the final score 21-19, 15-21 and 21-12.
Since the beginning of the first game, Jojo managed to open the scoring first against his opponent. That moment became a confident capital to lead three points, but things turned around because they lost three points, Zhao even chased by winning 9-7.
Ahead of crucial points, Jojo was able to hold his opponent at the 10th point. He then fought seriously to reverse the numbers and close the first interval with a narrow lead 11-10.
After the break, it was Zhao Jun Peng's turn to be overwhelmed. Jojo shot up quickly with an effective game until finally closing the first game with a score of 21-19.
In the second game, Jojo could not maintain his good game. He was only able to lead in the first two points and was scattered in the second interval with a score of 11-7. Even after the break, Jojo did not change much, he lost 15-21 in the second game.
This draw forced the match to continue into the deciding round. Through the game ruber, Jonatan Christie is determined to get up. His efforts did not go smoothly because he was again five points behind, but after that Jojo got up and made a distance of 11-7 over the Chinese representative.

The men's doubles became the first Indonesian representatives to qualify for the quarter-finals after winning over their compatriots, Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana with a score of 21-17 and 21-18.
Furthermore, Jonathan Christie will fight in the quarter-finals against the men's singles fifth seed, Chou Tien Chen.
