JAKARTA - The imposition of the Governor of West Java (Jabar) Ridwan Kamil to the Golkar Party is expected to increase ammunition in winning the 2024 General Election. "He who has experience raising voters," said West Java Golkar Party DPD chairman Ace Hasan Syadzily to reporters in Jakarta, quoted on Thursday, January 19.

Golkar will certainly take advantage of Ridwan Kamil's potential, including to attract the voices of young people. "And we hope it will become ammunition for the Golkar Party," said Ace.

"Not only in West Java. But throughout Java," he continued.

Similarly, Golkar Party Deputy Head Melchias Markus Mekeng assessed that Ridwan Kamil's presence would have a positive impact. Not only because it is able to have an electoral effect, this regional head is considered a person who knows himself and is rational.

Thus, Ridwan's entry into the Golkar Party is considered a decision that has been carefully considered. "So, his decision to enter (the Party) of Golkar is not a decision," said Mekeng.

As previously reported, Ridwan Kamil received the Golkar Party membership card (KTA) on Wednesday, January 18. It was the General Chair of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartato, who immediately gave it.
