Entering The Great Season, 3 Land Fires Occured In Natuna 2 Last Day

KEPRI - The dry season has hit Riau Islands Province (Kepri). A total of three fire points have occurred in Natuna Regency for the last two days.

"For two days, since Sunday (January 15) until today we have received reports of three land fire points," said Head of the Natuna Regency Fire Service (Damkar), Romi Heri Abdi in Natuna, Riau Islands, Monday, January 16.

He said the three points occurred in Bunguran Selatan, Bunguran Utara and Bunguran Timur Laut. The fire in three vacant lands belonging to the local residents had been extinguished by the Natuna Damkar.

"Initial indications we estimate that this was deliberately burned to clear land, the easiest way to open land, yes, burned," he said, quoted by Antara.

He also appealed to residents not to clear land by burning forests because it will cause air pollution and can endanger the safety of others.

"As the head of the service said yesterday when there was a fire in the Cemaga area, today it happened again in the Pujung area, currently officers are going there to extinguish the fire, the information is that the fire has approached the residents' houses," he said.

Meanwhile, for the fire in the Kelarak area, North Bunguran, which occurred today, the officers are still coordinating with the local sub-district government.

"We have contacted the sub-district and Babinsa, while we are still waiting for reports of monitoring results in the field, the latest information is that the fire has started to extinguish," he explained.

He also said that to ensure the development of the hotspots at the location, officers had been deployed under the coordination of the Head of the Operations Section.

"The latest developments will be able to contact Kasiops, Mr. Trendy, he is monitoring in the field," he said.

Meanwhile, the area of fire and the impact caused by the fire at the three points are still being mapped by officers by conducting investigations.

"Later the investigation team will go down to see the field conditions," he said.

To note, the location of the fire in the North Bunguran area with the Fire Brigade Headquarters is approximately 90 kilometers with a distance of approximately one hour.
