Pandemic Over, Italian Film Festivals Offline In Jakarta And Yogyakarta
JAKARTA - The Italian Embassy together with Istituto Italiano-in Cultura in Indonesia held the Italian Film Festival (ITAFF) for the first time held offline in Indonesia.
Maria Battaglia as the 2023 Italian Film Festival Director's Festival said that this event was a response to the enthusiasm of Indonesian audiences for the previous ITAFF event.
"We are very excited to hold the Italian Film Festival for the second time this year, after the first one will be held online in 2021," said Maria Battaglia during a press conference in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta on Friday, January 13.
"Cinecitta di Roma kembali memberikan dukungannya kepada Italian Film Festival 2023, sehingga kami bisa menghadirkan delapan film Italia terbaru dan berkualitas yang telah mendapat penghargaan di berbagai festival film nasional maupun internasional," sambungnya.
Asmara Abigail, an Indonesian actress who has collaborated with the Italian film actor, also supports the ITAFF 2023 event. She admits that Italian cinema has attracted her attention for a long time, especially the Italian cinema of neorealism.
Italy is one of the most important countries in the history of world cinema, where legendary filmmakers such as Federico Fellini, Luchino Visconti, Giuseppe Tornatore, and others are located. I am very happy to hear Italian Film Festival comes offline because it is rare for Indonesians to enjoy the latest Italian films on the big screen," he said.
Organized on January 21 to 29, ITAFF will be held in three themes in two cities, namely Istituto Italiano-in Cultutara and CGV Grand Indonesia which are located in Jakarta, as well as the Indonesian Francais Institute located in Yogyakarta.
ITAFF 2023 will feature 8 of the latest films by Italian filmmakers which will air from 2021 to 2022.
