Police Won't Allow Aremania to Attend the Kanjuruhan Tragedy Trial at the Surabaya District Court
SURABAYA - Arema fans, Aremania, are prohibited from coming to Surabaya during the first trial of the Kanjuruhan Tragedy case which will be held at the Surabaya District Court (PN), Monday, January 16. This decision was the result of a joint agreement between the City Government, the Surabaya District Court, the Attorney General's Office, the Attorney General's Office, the Surabaya Police, and Bonek Mania representatives.
"We have held a coordination meeting, and the results are agreed upon by Arema supporters, also Bonek's friends are not allowed to come to Surabaya or hold demonstrations at the Surabaya District Court", said Head of Ops for Surabaya Police AKBP Toni Kasmiri, Wednesday, January 11.
Toni emphasized that Aremania was not allowed to go to Surabaya at the request of Persebaya fans, Bonek Mania. The goal is to avoid unwanted things between the two supporters.
"Surabaya is the home of Persebaya supporters, in this case, Bonek does not want Aremania to carry out a demonstration at the Surabaya District Court", he said.
This step aims to prevent unwanted things from happening if Aremania enters the Surabaya area. Toni admitted that his party had coordinated with the Batu Police, Malang Police, Malang City Police, Perak Police, and Sidoarjo Police to carry out the sweeping.
"If there are Aremania who enter Surabaya, it will be printed, because there is a risk of clashing with fellow Persebaya supporters", he said.
