Residents Of Bangka Mandatory To Know That Angin Puting Belitung Turns Out To Come Frequently

The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Bangka Regency noted that during 2022 there were nine natural disasters of tornadoes in the area.

Head of BPBD Bangka Regency Ridwan said that nine tornadoes during 2022 occurred in a number of sub-districts such as Pemali, Merawang, Riau Silip District and several other places.

Based on recapitulation data during 2022, he said, the hurricane natural disaster was in first place compared to other disasters such as floods, fires, water inundated and other types of natural disasters.

"As a result of the nine tornado, dozens of houses suffered heavy and minor damage with losses at the estimated to reach tens of millions," he said as quoted by Antara, Saturday, January 7.

In addition to the tornado, in the 2022 period there were three recorded cases of fire, four cases of missing persons, two cases of houses being struck by lightning, two victims being attacked by crocodiles, one case being affected by extreme weather and one case of fallen trees.

In order to facilitate access to natural disaster early control and prevention, said Ridwan, his party is mapping disaster-prone areas by coordinating with the sub-district, sub-district or village government governments.

"We need to do this regional mapping as an effort to anticipate as well as reduce disaster risk," he said.

Ridwan appealed to people in the area, especially in coastal areas, to be aware of extreme weather that has the potential for tidal sea water which can cause tidal flooding to be predicted from January 21 to 23, 2023.

"I ask the public to report quickly in the event of a natural disaster in their area so that the BPBD team can carry out their duties quickly and responsively," he said.

The BPBD rapid reaction team, he said, was always on standby at the service post to monitor, receive reports and provide assistance to people experiencing disasters.
