JAKARTA - Vietnam has confirmed itself to be the winner of Group B after winning 3-0 over Myanmar in the last match of the Group B phase on Tuesday, January 3. This result makes Golden Dragon troops officially become Indonesian opponents in the semifinals.

The hosts opened the scoring in the 8th minute by unexpected means. Kyaw Zin Lwin's own goal brought a bright spot to the Golden Dragon squad.

Myanmar's regret tries to be responded to by chasing behind, but the efforts of the Asian Lions troops have yet to bear fruit.

Instead of chasing a deadlock, Antoine Hey's team got another hit. Vietnam managed to double the score to 2-0 this time through Nguyen Tien Lith's kick when the game was running 27 minutes and Vietnam's advantage lasted until halftime.

In the second half, Myanmar again had to admit Vietnam's superiority which changed things 3-0. The third goal was created by Chau Ngoc Quang through assists from Nguyen Hoang Duc.

With Vietnam's 3-0 win over Myanmar, this result made them win group B which will challenge Indonesia in the semifinals. Indonesia itself occupies the runner-up position in Group A after a 2-1 win over the Philippines.

Meanwhile, Malaysia won one ticket to the semifinals from Group B. They qualified after beating Singapore 4-1 and will challenge Thailand in the next round.
