'We Will Fire!' The West Java Police Chief Throws Warning At Subordinates Who Are Involved In Misappropriation Of Subsidized Pupuk
West Java (Jabar) Police Chief Inspector General Suntana said police officers involved in misappropriation of subsidized fertilizer distribution for farmers would immediately be fired because it was very detrimental to farmers who needed the fertilizer."Do not let the police who are protectors play in the distribution of subsidized fertilizers, if any we will fire them," said Inspector General Suntana in Indramayu, West Java, Antara, Tuesday, January 3.Suntana asked all members of the National Police who served in West Java to participate in facilitating the distribution of subsidized fertilizers for farmers, because it is very much needed when entering the planting period.According to him, every time there is a tengkulak playing subsidy fertilizer, a police officer is behind him, for that he asks that something similar does not happen again, because it can be very detrimental to farmers.Suntana said that his party had fired a police chief in Indramayu Regency who was caught participating in misappropriating the distribution of subsidized fertilizers, and this should be a lesson."I used to remove the police chief here (Indramayu playing subsidized fertilizer) if I'm not mistaken. If there are police officers, police chiefs, officers who play in the trading system for subsidized fertilizers, I will remove them, if necessary I will fire them to become a deterrent effect," he said.Suntana said that as a protector of the community, members of the police can guarantee the availability of fertilizers that farmers need, and never interfere with misappropriation.Because said Suntana, when subsidized fertilizer is misappropriated, the impact will be felt very much, namely the failure of farmers to produce rice, so that food security can be disrupted."Don't let what the government has disbursed by building a dam become in vain because farmers do not get subsidized fertilizer," he said. For this reason, his party requested that all members participate in maintaining the availability of subsidized fertilizers, so that agriculture, especially in Indramayu, can be more advanced, because the government has targeted rice production to increase, from 1.3 million tons to 1.8 million tons.
