2022 AFF Cup: Thailand Coach Starting Data Analysis Ahead Of Indonesian Opponents
JAKARTA - Thailand coach, Alexandre Polking said there were a number of things his team had to prepare before against the Indonesian national team. This match is fairly important because it can determine the steps of the two teams.
Thailand will face Indonesia in Group A of the 2022 AFF Cup on Thursday, December 29. The match was held at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta.
This Thailand meeting with Indonesia is arguably a repeat match for the 2020 AFF Cup final.
Before meeting Indonesia in SUGBK, Thailand had qualified capital because they were a team that collected big wins. After defeating Brunei Darussalam 5-0, Teerasil Dangda et al toppled the Philippines 4-0.
After his last match against the Philippines, Thailand did not waste time starting preparations to travel to Indonesia. The coach gave his appreciation to the players but then immediately developed a strategy.
"In the match against the Philippines, all the players performed well and praise should be given to all the team members who fought hard from the first minute until the last minute," Polking was quoted as saying by Thairath on Selsa, December 27.
"But we will face an important match against Indonesia on Thursday. Therefore we try to rest some players faster."
"From now on, the data will be analyzed. We will also improve things before meeting Indonesia in the next match," continued the German and Brazilian-blooded coach.
So far Thailand is in first place in Group A standings with a total of 6 points. That number is the same as Indonesia, which is in second place because it lost on goal difference.
However, Indonesia's hopes to seize Thailand's position are still wide open. Moreover, from the two matches that Shin Tae-yong's team managed to win, finally against Brunei Darussalam with a score of 7-0.
