Jokowi Said There Was A Political Party Angry At The Palace Unqualified Elections, Ummah Party: Sorry We Don't Have Time To Response

JAKARTA - The Ummat Party refuses to respond to President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) statement which alludes to a party accusing the palace behind not passing to participate in the 2024 General Election. Incidentally, one of the parties that cannot compete in the 2024 General Election is the Ummat Party.

Spokesperson for the Ummat Party, Mustofa Nahrawardaya, said his party did not have time to comment on things that were less productive because it was focusing on the official decision of the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu). "Sorry, because there has been an official Bawaslu decision, we obey it by working hard to fulfill Bawaslu's orders," Mustofa told reporters, Thursday, December 22. "We are focusing, so we temporarily don't have time to respond to other things that are less productive for our party," he continued.

However, Mustofa thanked President Jokowi for caring for the Ummat Party after being declared not to qualify as a participant in the 2024 General Election.

"Thank you to anyone who has a concern for the problems faced by the Ummah Party, including the President," he said.

Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), mentioned that there was a party that accused him of interfering in the selection stages of political parties (political parties) participating in the 2024 General Election. The President complained that he and the Palace were still accused of being the masterminds who made political parties not qualify as participants of the 2024 General Election even though he did not interfere or intervene in any intervention. The complaint was conveyed by Jokowi when he gave a speech at Hanura's Anniversary, Wednesday, December 21. Jokowi also emphasized that the selection of election participants was the authority of the General Election Commission (KPU). This is a hassle for qualifying and whether or not the election participants are participating in the 2024 election. That's actually the KPU's business, the KPU's business. But the accused because they did not pass directly appointed, the Palace intervened, the great strength intervened, the great strength of intervention," Jokowi said in his remarks at Hanura's Anniversary, Wednesday, December 21. Jokowi admitted that he did not know anything about the matter of determining the 2024 election participants. He also guaranteed that the KPU has independence that cannot be contested.

"I don't understand anything about this problem. This is a total of 100 percent of the KPU's business. It's not anyone's business. The KPU is independent. So we can't get our names involved in intervening, let alone. Nothing," said Jokowi. For information, accusations about this intervention were initially made by the founder of the Ummat Party, Amien Rais some time ago. Amien accused that there was a big force that made his party not released by the KPU at the announcement of the 2024 election participant political parties.
