COVID-19 Update as of December 19: Recovered Cases Increase by 3,240 People
JAKARTA - The COVID-19 Handling Task Force reported that cases of recovered COVID-19 in Indonesia had increased by 3,240 people per day.
Based on data from the Task Force quoted by ANTARA, positive cases of COVID-19 experienced an additional 809 people, bringing the total to date to 6,710,406 people.
Cases of death due to COVID-19 increased by 26 people, bringing the total to date to 160,424 people.
Thus, active cases of COVID-19 in the country decreased by 2,457 people to 27,238 people. As many as 43,929 specimens were examined per day, and there were 2,237 suspected COVID-19.
DKI Jakarta contributed the most additional positive cases of COVID-19, namely 284 people. Then, followed by West Java (187), Banten (108), East Java (52), and Central Java (36).
West Java contributed the most additional recovered cases of COVID-19, namely 1,287 people. Then, followed by DKI Jakarta (669), Banten (329), East Java (235), and Central Java (198).
Meanwhile, East Java contributed the most additional cases of death due to COVID-19 with seven people.

Previously, the Spokesman for the COVID-19 Handling Task Force Prof. Wiku Adisasmito said that the community is in control in efforts to tackle the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 that causes COVID-19 during Christmas and New Year 2023 celebrations.
"Everything is under our control. The community is increasingly convinced of self-control, groups, event organizers, the police also remind (health protocol), that's called mutual cooperation", said Wiku Adisasmito.
Wiku said the government had issued rules for domestic and foreign travelers as outlined in SE Numbers 24 and 25 of 2022, emphasizing the importance of using booster doses of vaccines for travelers.
Wiku said the system had been integrated with the PeduliLindungi application in public places, including terminals, airports, ports, and stations.
