Still Happy At Fiorentina, Sofyan Amrabat Has Given A Signal To Atletico Madrid
JAKARTA - Sofyan Amrabat has become the target of many European clubs after his impressive performance at the 2022 World Cup with the Morocco national team. However, this player who plays as a midfielder gives a signal that he prefers to join Atletico Madrid.
Amrabat expressed his admiration for the Atletico Madrid style under Diego Simeone. Like a tit for tat, Atletico is also interested in signing it in the upcoming January stock exchange.
However, Amrabat does not seem to be moving in the near future. He admits that he is still happy with Fiorentina, the Serie A club he is now defending.
"It is a great honor to be associated with such clubs. Currently, I play for Fiorentina. I have great respect for my club, this is a great team," he told Marca.
"I have a great coach and a good relationship with the owner often Commisso, who took me to Fiorentina, and also with Joe Barone (General Manager of the club) and Daniele Prade (Director of Sports). I have great coach at Fiorentina," he continued.
Amrabat actually refused to talk about Atletico Madrid and Diego Simeone. However, what Simeone did and achieved while training Atletico Madrid for years had amazed him.
"I love the style of the game. He has gained a lot of things and I have great respect for him. The players in his team are very strong physically and aggressively. I like playing like that," he said.
Amrabat itself does not rule out a move to Spanish football in the future. According to him, La Liga is one of the best competitions in the world.
"I've been (to Spain) a lot, and I've seen a lot of matches in La Rosaleda. There's a great fan base and a great atmosphere. The Spanish league is one of the best competitions in the world," Amrabat said.
"One day I might play there. I am 26 years old, no one knows what will happen in the future," he concluded.
