Hit By A Wave Of 2.5 Meters Of Pompong Vessels Sinking In Anabas Riau, 3 Fishermen Were Successfully Evacuated
NATUNA - Basarnas Natuna said that three fishermen who were victims of the sinking ship in the Anambas Islands Sea, Riau Islands Province, were rescued.
"Information we got on Sunday (December 11) night, a pompong unit carrying three fishermen drowned in the waters of Pejalin Island, Anambas Islands," said Head of Basarnas Natuna Mexianus Bekabel, Monday, December 12, confiscated by Antara.
The pompong type ship carrying a fisherman from Anambas sank due to bad weather. At that time it rained with intensity accompanied by waves reaching 2.5 meters with wind speeds of 15 knots making the ship sink.
According to him, the three fishermen were rescued by a fishing pompong passing through the area and immediately evacuated to the nearest land.
"When evacuated, the victim experienced mild shock, but is currently at the Tobong Anambas Island Health Center for further medical assistance," he said.
Therefore, Mexianus appealed to people who carry out activities at sea to always be vigilant and check vehicles and safety equipment to anticipate accidents.
"We also appeal to all fishermen to be more careful in going to sea and always equip themselves with safety tools and radio communications considering we are already in the north season and weather conditions are changing rapidly," he said.
