Flying To Timika, Sri Mulyani Gives A Message Touching Women's Worker PT Freeport

JAKARTA Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani had the opportunity to have a dialogue with female workers of PT Freeport Indonesia in a meeting entitled Women Leadership. In her statement, the Minister of Finance gave her own appreciation for the women who took part in this fairly heavy work. She said, Srikandi Freeport Indonesia was able to continue working in a world of mining work that is identical to 3M (man, money, and machine) and certainly has an extreme environment. We know here that there are female workers such as Lita Karuba who have worked for 25 years. Or there is also Anike Marandof who has worked for 29 years. Apart from them, there is also Anike from Security Risk Management or Meilani from General Construction & Special project working in areas commonly carried out by male workers,he said in a written statement during the working visit of the Minister of Finance to Freeport Indonesia in Timika, Central Papua, Monday, December 12. At the event, the Minister of Finance shared his experience on how to keep working but still prioritizing his family. "As a woman who is committed to family and at the same time must complete my S3 school. It is not very easy. However, there is no gender constraint in the work. We can all continue to contribute as well as possible to the state and society, without leaving the main role as a woman." he said.

High appreciation was also conveyed by the state treasurer to Freeport Indonesia, which has supported gender mainstreaming by providing men and women with the same opportunities in careers, developing and having families. The Minister of Finance emphasized that the woman today is much different from the past. "Now there is no gender limitation in working, all Indonesian people can continue to contribute as best they can to the country and nation, without leaving the main role as a woman or being bound to gender," he concluded.
