OKU - Ogan Komering Ulu Resort Police (OKU), South Sumatra, revealed a case of hoarding subsidized diesel fuel (BBM) by securing three suspects."These suspects are the targets of operation (TO) that we secured at a gas station in OKU Regency on Monday, November 28", said OKU Police Chief AKBP Danu Agus Purnomo through Head of Public Relations AKP Syafaruddin in Baturaja, Antara, Tuesday, November 29.The three subsidized fuel hoarders, namely AW (40), JO (39), and YO (33), residents of Batu Putih Village, West Baturaja District, OKU Regency. All three were presented by investigators when the case was released.The suspects were caught red-handed by police officers while filling fuel repeatedly at a public gas station (SPBU) in Batu Putih Village."The suspect repeatedly filled subsidized diesel fuel using two units of Taft Hiline and Isuzu Panter," he said.In carrying out the action, the perpetrator deliberately modified the oil storage tank which was replaced with a large drum installed in the trunk of the car's back.After filling at the gas station, he said, then the fuel was dismantled or cast at the residence of suspect AW which was put in jerry cans to be resold at a higher price."Officers followed the suspect's car and found the oil removed in jerry cans and then stored before being resold," he explained.Of the three suspects, the police secured evidence of a green Isuzu Panther car BG 1570 YB, a black Taft Hilline car number F 1299 E with a modified tank, two blue jerry cans containing 45 liters of diesel fuel.The suspect will be charged with Article 55 in conjunction with Article 53 Letter (c) of Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas which was amended in paragraph 5 of Article 40 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 11 of 2022 concerning Job Creation with the threat of imprisonment for six years and a maximum fine of IDR 60 billion."Currently, we have secured the three suspects and evidence for further legal processing," he said.
