Cilegon Police Joins Child Obscenity Perpetrators UnderAGE

CILEGON The Cilegon Police arrested the perpetrators of sexual abuse of minors that occurred at the Krakatau Water World Swimming Pool (KCC) Jalan KH Yasin Bey Number 06 Kebondalem Village, Purwakarta District, Cilegon City.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cilegon Police, Banten Police, AKP M Nandar, confirmed the incident.

"On Saturday (19 November) at 12.30 WIB, there was a criminal act of obscene acts against minors that occurred at the Krakatau Water World Swimming Pool (KCC) on Jalan KH Yasin Bey, Purwakarta District, Cilegon City," Nandar said in a written statement, Friday, November 27.

Nandar explained that the perpetrator's obscene act was carried out when the victim was in the swimming pool. Then, continued Nandar, the perpetrator came from behind and held the victim's body.

Not accepting being treated indecently, the victim shouted. The perpetrator with the initials AW (16), a resident of Kedung Pulo Ampel Village, Serang Regency, was finally arrested.

"It didn't take long for the Cilegon Police Satreskrim personnel to carry out legal proceedings against perpetrator AW (16), this is a form of implementation of the Police Precision Quick Wins Program," said Nandar.

Nandar also said that the evidence that was secured for the incident was 1 piece of victim's clothes, 1 sheet of family card, 1 sheet of birth certificate and the victim's post-mortem letter.

"The perpetrator was charged with Article 82 of Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law Number 01 of 2016 concerning amendments to Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Amendments to Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning child protection with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison," concluded Nandar.
