The Storm Of France's National Team Injuries Has NOT PASSed
JAKARTA - The French national team was again hit by injury problems. This time defender Lucas Hernandez had to enter the treatment room.
Worse yet, the player is rumored to be missing the rest of the 2022 World Cup due to a knee injury he suffered while appearing in the match against Australia. This news was received by AFP through a source close to the team nicknamed Les Bleus.
In that match, Hernandez seemed to be hobbled and had to be replaced early in the first half. The Bayern Munich player's injury adds to the problems for coach Didier Deschamps who had lost several key players before the tournament began.
As is known, France has lost star striker Karim Benzema after the winner of the Ballon d'Or had a left thigh injury during training on Saturday. In addition, key players absent are Paul Pogba, N'Golo Kante and Presnel Kimpembe.
"To be honest, this is starting to be a big problem. We immediately felt it was serious," said French captain Hugo Lloris.
"It's the latest blow but we have to keep moving forward. It will make us stronger."
Deschamps now has to make fun of his choice because his squad has reduced to 24 players.
He worries about the worse things about Hernandez when he tells French broadcaster TF, "He's going to have some checks, it seems quite serious to me."
The Deschamps Squad is trying to become the first team to successfully defend the title since Brazil in 1962. The first test has been passed smoothly by crushing Australia 4-1.
