Vice President Ma'ruf Asks Refugees Of The Cianjur Earthquake To Get Electricity And Clean Water
JAKARTA - Indonesian Vice President Ma'ruf Amin asked earthquake refugees in Cianjur Regency to obtain temporary proper housing.
"The affected people should also be recorded, as well as provide proper housing if later needed for temporary shelters, then make sure the affected people have access to electricity, MCK (washing toilets), then of course water, the most important thing," said Vice President Ma'ruf Amin during a video call with West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil and Cianjur Regent Herman Suherman from the vice president's official residence, Jakarta, Tuesday, November 22, as reported by Antara.
An earthquake that hit the southwestern region of Cianjur Regency, West Java, occurred on Monday, November 22 yesterday at 13.21 WIB. The earthquake had a magnitude of 5.6.
The earthquake occurred at coordinates 6.84 South Latitude and 107.05 East Longitude, about 10 kilometers southwest of Cianjur Regency with a depth of 10 kilometers.
"The water is also constrained because the PDAM pipes were hit by an earthquake, damaged, so in a week it seems that the majority will be assisted by water tanks, sir," said Ridwan Kamil.
According to Ridwan Kamil, there were 2,300 damaged buildings that needed assistance for rebuilding.
"The majority of roads were damaged, then most of the residents' buildings because a total of 2,300 were damaged, maybe the Vice President can help later directions to PUPR, sir," said Ridwan.
"PUPR? Yes-yes, I'll ask later. Later BNPB (National Disaster Management Agency) will also handle heavy, light ones, later there will be regular distributions, later I ask BNPB," said the Vice President.
Ridwan Kamil said that his party is currently trying to record the exact number of affected victims.
"I hope to take quick steps, especially assistance to injured victims, especially in areas where there is still no infrastructure, it has not been connected, which is remote," added the Vice President.
The Governor of West Java also admitted that he participated in burying the victim who died. As of 10:00 WIB, the total number of dead victims currently recorded is 162 people.
The vice president also requested that the provision of assistance be coordinated.
"Aid so that it is coordinated properly, both from the center and regionally, so that we can coordinate it properly," said the Vice President.
In his explanation, Ridwan Kamil said that he had compiled an organization of one disaster post in the regent's pavilion so that all information came out and assistance came through one door so that it would not be confusing.
"We have been coordinated, it's just a matter of how to now reach all those affected in one day until sunset," added the Vice President.
Not to forget Vice President Ma'ruf asked for the supply of healing centers for the victims.
"Don't forget to healing center to deal with trauma, especially for children because they are still traumatized by yesterday's incident," said the Vice President.
Ridwan We are also preparing trauma healing so that not only health emergency, but also psychological emergency is prepared.
"According to reports that many children died because on average they were in madrasa, the zuhur service went to public schools, continued religious schools, so we ask for permission, which were affected by many students, sir, from 162 (victims died)," said Ridwan.

To date, as many as 14 refugee posts have been established to facilitate 13,784 refugees affected by the earthquake. So far, 2,345 housing units have been destroyed with damage scales ranging from 60 to 100 percent.
