Ngurah Rai Airport Super Busy, VVIP Aviation Regulations And Regulars Still Smooth

JAKARTA - The arrangement of VVIP flights and regular flights -- domestically and internationally -- at Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport runs smoothly.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Transportation Adita Irawati explained that a number of G20 leaders and invited guests had arrived at Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport, since Sunday, November 13 yesterday.

"In general, the arrangements for VVIP flights and regular, both domestic and international flights at Ngurah Rai Airport are running smoothly," Adita said in his statement in Jakarta, Monday, November 14, quoted by Antara.

Sunday night, the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi also accompanied President Joko Widodo to welcome United States President Joe Biden.

The US presidential plane Air Force One that brought President Biden arrived at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport at around 21.46 WITA.

Previously, the Minister of Transportation also welcomed the state guests who had landed at Ngurah Rai Airport last night, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, Mr. Marcelo Ebrard Casaubon, who arrived at 19.49 WITA using a Qatar Airways flight.

Based on information from the Directorate of Air Transportation of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, a number of VVIP aircraft and regular state guests who arrived until last night were Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida who arrived at 00.16 WITA this morning using the presidential plane.. Then, the Prime Minister of Fiji, Queen Inoke Kubuabola who arrived at 23.47 WITA using Qantas Airways.

Furthermore, the President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk-yeol who arrived at 23.25 WITA using the presidential plane and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who arrived at 22.27 WITA using Emirates flights.

In addition to state leaders, a number of leaders of world organizations were also present, including the Director General of International Labor Organization (ILO) Gilbert F. Adita said, on Monday (14/11) today, there will still be a number of leaders and state guests who land at Ngurah Rai Airport.

The Minister of Transportation will welcome a number of state guests who arrived today, including Italian Prime Minister, Ms. Giorgia Meloni, Cambodian Prime Minister, Mr. Hun Sen, Brazilian Foreign Minister, Mr. Carlos Alberto Franco Fran fola, and Suriname Foreign Minister, Mr. Albert E. Ramdin.

Meanwhile, regular flight schedules, both domestic and international, are reportedly running well in accordance with flight slots that have been set during the G20 Summit, and there has been no cancellation or flight diversion.

For domestic regular flights, on November 13, 220 slots were available with a capacity of 26,563 seats or 93 percent of the normal period of 237 slots with a capacity of 40,769 seats.

On November 14, 130 slots were available with a capacity of 21,817 seats or 57 percent of the normal period (230 slots with a capacity of 39,221 seats).

"Reported delay rates (delays) are below 45 minutes and airlines have handled delays by providing snacks as compensation," he said.

Adita added that the delay in regular flights occurred due to flow arrangements (holdings), when the VVIP aircraft arrived.

This is part of the handling procedure to ensure the smoothness of VVIP and regular flights and to meet flight safety and security aspects.

The Ministry of Transportation through the Airport Authority Region IV Ngurah Rai, Bali has coordinated with airport and airline managers to prepare for handling flight service users, such as requests for schedule changes (rescheduling) to handling aircraft ticket refunds.
