Regarding The Naturalization Of Sandy Walsh And Jordi Amat, Menpora: The President Has ISSUEd THE PRESIDENTIAL DECREE
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo has issued a Presidential Decree (KEPPRES) on citizenship (Naturalization). This was done for two prospective Indonesian national team players, Sandy Walsh and Jordi Amat.
The PRESIDENTial Decree was issued by President Jokowi respectively with Presidential Decree No. 5 of 2022 and Presidential Decree No. 6 of 2022. This good news was conveyed by the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Zainudin Amali.
Zainudin Amali said, after the signing of the KEPPRES, the two naturalized players only had to carry out one other procession, namely taking oaths.
"I just received the KEPPRES about Jordi Amat and Sandy Walsh, it has been signed (President Jokowi), it's just an oath process," said Menpora Zainudin Amali, quoted from the official website of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Wednesday, November 9.
Regarding the oath-taking of the two prospective national team players, the Minister of Youth and Sports said it would be carried out in the near future. However, to be clearer about the process, the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkum HAM) will determine the process as the party authorized in taking the oath of citizenship.
"It (the oath-taking) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights area," continued the Menpora.
Considering that Shandy and Jordi are active players who are still defending their respective teams in European competitions, the Menpora said the oath-taking process could be carried out online.
"Because the competition is still running, I suspect they will be virtually sworn in, because it is impossible for him to leave the competition that is currently underway and that is possible," explained the Menpora.
The naturalization process for Sandy and Jordi actually had to be done quickly and efficiently. The reason is, these two players are expected to be able to appear for the Indonesian national team in the 2022 AFF Cup which will be held on December 20, 2022-16 January 2023.
