Together With WRT #31 Want To Join WEC 2022 Sweetly, Sean Gelael: The Rest We'll See What Happens

JAKARTA - Indonesian racer Sean Galeal and the WRT #31 team want to end the 2022 FIA World Endurance Chamber (WEC) endurance race in Bahrain on Saturday sweetly even though before the last series it was stuck in fourth place in the standings.

The #31 WRT team that fell in the LMP2 class based on data compiled by the media in Jakarta, Wednesday, packed 78 points. The top position is occupied by the JOTA#38 team with 114 points, United Autosports USA #23 with 86 points and Realteam by WRT #41 with 80 points.

If you want to poke at the top, Sean Gelael and WRT #31 must win because whatever happens to the JOTA #38 team if WRT #31 wins then they will certainly have a minimum runner-up.

When we talk about the requirements to become overall champions, Sean Gelael and WRT # 31 besides having to win, we also have to see JOTA 38 finish in maximum position 10. If JOTA #38 finishes in P9, then Sean Gelael and WRT #31 must win plus win pole position.

"WRT and I went to Bahrain to do what we can to control. We won 38 (win) or 39 points (win + pole position). The rest we will see what happens," said Sean Gelael, quoted from Antara, Wednesday.

Last season Sean Gelael and WRT #31 were also involved in the title race in Bahrain. The difference is, they are in two different camps. Sean with JOTA #28 and WRT #31 are still being defended by Robin Frinjs, with Ferdinand Habsburg and Charles Milesi.

As a result, WRT #31, who before going to Bahrain were behind points and then won two races in Bahrain, 6 Hours, and 8 Hours, so they became overall champions of the LMP2 class, and placed Sean Gelael and JOTA 28 as runners up.

This year WRT #31 as a team is still very solid and competitive. They won twice, at Spa-Francorchamps and Fuji, and grabbed the podium as runners-up in Sebring.

Only, the incident at Le Mans (double points) and Monza made them fall into the LMP2 points standings. So they are now in fourth place behind JOTA #38, United Autosports USA #23, and Realteam by WRT #31.
