Now Is The Time, Moeldoko Urges The Acceleration Of MSMEs Digitization

JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff Dr. Moeldoko continues to urge the public to support efforts to accelerate the digitization of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises or MSMEs. Because in today's digital era, this is a necessity.

What's more, the retired TNI Commander acknowledged the advantages of MSMEs as the backbone of the Indonesian economy, which did not falter even in the face of the crisis. "MSMEs must go to the digital world. Don't hesitate to go digital. Currently consumers don't want complicated things, especially when it comes to time, everything must be fast. The digital world will certainly open up big opportunities and bring drastic changes to our MSMEs," said Moeldoko during his working visit to the BUMN House in Cirebon, West Java, according to a written statement received by VOI on Wednesday 9 November.

The Presidential Chief of Staff also admitted that he was happy with the community's initiative to collaboratively develop business ideas through the government's BUMN Home program.

As is known, the BUMN Home Program focuses on empowering MSMEs to go digital. By increasing MSME literacy in digital trading, MSME actors are expected to be able to diversify their product marketing channels so as to increase MSME income and competitiveness.

"I appreciate initiatives like this because the President is thinking hard about how MSMEs can go digital and go digital. SOE houses can be a bridge for MSME players to the banking world and the market. But if you don't want to go digital, consumers will definitely leave it," Moeldoko added.

Meanwhile, Moeldoko on Wednesday (9/11) made a working visit to the City of Tegal, Central Java, and Cirebon, West Java. One of the focuses of this working visit was to review the development of MSMEs in the regions.

Previously in Tegal, Moeldoko directly observed economic activities at the Tegalsari Coastal Fishing Port (PPP). In addition to having a dialogue with the fishermen regarding the price of basic necessities, the selling price of fish and the operational needs of the fishermen, he appealed for fish processing products to be marketed through MSMEs that are already digital in order to reach a wider market.
