Offering Firm Commitment, Bidding for Central Jabung and Pope Oil and Gas Working Areas Officially Opened
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has started offering the management of two oil and gas Working Areas (WK) namely Central Jabung (Offshore & Onshore Riau and Jambi) and Whale Working Area (Offshore East Natuna). The Direct Bid Auction process runs from today until December 7, 2022.
"The schedule for access to Bidding Documents for the Central Jabung and Whale Working Area starts today and until December 7, 2022. Meanwhile, the submission of participation documents is until December 8-9, 2022", said the Director General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Tutuka Ariadji, in a virtual press conference, Tuesday, November 8.
The whale's working area is 8,728 square kilometers, while the Whale Working Area, which is located off the East Natuna Coast, is recorded to have an area of 8,214 square kilometers.
"The government invites Business Entities and Permanent Establishments engaged in the upstream oil and gas industry that have the financial and technical capabilities, can meet the minimum requirements for a Firm Commitment, fulfill the main terms and conditions of the Work Area Auction, and have a good performance and track record for can participate in the Conventional Oil and Gas Working Area Auction", added Tutuka.

In the Jabung Tengah working area, the government offers definite commitments in the form of G&G, Acquisition and Processing 3D Seismic 500 square kilometers, and two exploration wells, while at Whale Working Area the government also offers definite commitments in the form of G&G, Acquisition and Processing 3D Seismic 500 square kilometers, and one exploration well.
"For business entities and permanent establishments who are interested, registration and access to Bid Documents are carried out through the online auction website for the Oil and Gas Working Area according to the schedule at https://esdm.go.id/wkmigas", concluded Tutuka.
