Remember The Doctor's Words! Drinking Antibiotics Without Recipes Can Make Bacteria In A Thick Body

JAKARTA - Pediatrician dr. Mulya Rahma Karyanti, SpA(K) said antibiotics are not recommended to be freely purchased without a doctor's prescription because it can cause bacteria in the body to become immune." “ It can cause old bacteria to die and the rest of bacteria are immune and this can survive and can cause more severe disease that threatens lives," he said in a webinar regarding Handling Fever in children in the context of the 103th anniversary of the RSCM which was followed online in Jakarta, Antara, Friday, November 4.So it is not recommended to give antibiotics by buying directly at pharmacies,Antibiotics can only be given by general practitioners or dentists and must follow the rules of use in order to be effective in killing bacteria. And it is also not recommended to use the same antibiotics that are used because the disease may be different."The method of drinking must also be followed according to the rules and must be exhausted. If you have received antibiotics, don't share them because the disease is different, they don't weigh differently," said Mulya. The rules for using the drug must also be considered. For example, the instructions for drugs to be drunk three times a day should be given every eight hours interval.“ For example, at six in the morning, two in the afternoon and ten in the evening. Because later the drug levels, which are more than eight hours, are not effective in killing bacteria, so they must still be followed if the giving is three times, meaning that they are divided into eight hours, twice a day given in a 12-hour interval,” he explained. The doctor who practices at Bunda Margonda Hospital explained that antibiotics do not always need to be given to children if they have a fever because most viruses can recover by themselves.“ A large proportion of 90 percent of the cause of fever in children is viral, so it can heal on its own. It's better if the two to three days of fever doesn't get better, you should go to a doctor,” he said.Mulya said that fever or increase in body temperature is a normal reaction of antibodies in the body to respond to bacterial and fungal infections. When the child has finished playing or running, the body temperature can also rise and not necessarily can be interpreted as fever.“ So children run around with fever, it's a normal body reaction, the goal is to make the body's antibodies work more optimally. Actually, it's not too dangerous unless there is a history of fever seizures that can occur in children whose temperatures are increasing, said Mulya.
