Prisoners In Jakarta Take Advantage Of Their Nephews' Distribution Of Methamphetamine

JAKARTA - One of the prison inmates in Jakarta is involved in controlling methamphetamine. The suspect with the initials RY (36) took advantage of his nephew, CA (23), who was outside to distribute methamphetamine. RY's role only regulates sales from inside the prison.

The disclosure was made when the Tanah Abang Metro Police arrested a dealer with the initials CA. The total amount of methamphetamine obtained from RY and CA was 19.38 grams.

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tanah Abang Metro Police, AKP Fiernando Adriansyah, said that both of them are networks of correctional institutions (Lapas) in Jakarta.

"From the results of the disclosure, we have secured 2 people, including the initials CA (23) and RY (36) who are currently serving their sentence at a prison in Jakarta," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tanah Abang Metro Police AKP Fiernando when confirmed by VOI, Friday, October 21.

Fernando explained that his party received information from the public regarding drug trafficking in the Central Jakarta area. After conducting an investigation in an effort to arrest the target, CA was finally arrested by the police on the side of Jalan Mencong, Peninggilan Selatan Village, Tangerang.

"We managed to secure a perpetrator with the initials CA (23) along with evidence in the form of 0.60 grams of methamphetamine," he said.

CA admitted that he was ordered by RY, his uncle who was serving a prison term in Jakarta.

"Members immediately moved and conducted an examination of the perpetrator RY, who is the uncle of CA," he said.

The police confiscated evidence of 1 pack of small plastic clips, 1 electric scale and 1 unit of Vivo Y12 I brand cellphone with a black blue casing.

"The two perpetrators were charged with Article 114 Sub 112 Jo 132 of the Republic of Indonesia Law. No. 35 Th. 2009 concerning Narcotics," he said.
