The House Of Representatives (DPR) Welcomes PSSI For The Fun Football Title: Inappropriate 'Celebrating' Tragedy In The Middle Of Ceremony Of Non-DIVISIONal Victims
JAKARTA - The DPR considers PSSI's unreasonable with FIFA to hold and enjoy the Fun Football event in the midst of the grief of the Urban Tragedy which has not yet subsided.
During the event, PSSI General Chair Mochamad Iriawan and FIFA President Gianni Infantino felt the joy of being like playing football in general. The match was held at the Bung Karno Gelora Complex, Madya Stadium, Jakarta, Tuesday, October 18 evening.
"Instead of sympathize, but it seems as if it is fun for the disaster that just happened. This is not included in public logic," said Deputy Chairman of Commission X DPR Abdul Fikri Faqih to reporters, Friday, October 21. He regretted the steps of PSSI and FIFA. In fact, said Fikri, the Palace and President of FIFA Gianni Infantino have built a good series of narratives.
In fact, Gianni at an official press conference at the Palace with President Joko Widodo, sympathetically expressed his sympathy and deep sorrow for the loss of life in Kanjuruhan.
"However, this statement is a clich and very contrasting. Because only a few hours later, PSSI officials together with the President of FIFA and his staff cheered in the fun football event," said Fikri.
Therefore, this PKS politician considers it natural for the public to see Gianni and Iwan Bule's joy as irony. Because, how can you convey feelings of grief with fun or activities that are 'fun'. Yes, it is not included in public logic, and I think anywhere like that," said Fikri.
The head of the commission in charge of sports also questioned why the committee and PSSI did not hold social activities that uphold the sense of sympathy in accordance with the statements of grief conveyed.
"It is much more sympathetic, if the event is held by visiting the scene of the office stadium, visiting the victim's grave, or visiting the seriously injured victims who are still being treated at the hospital," explained Fikri.
Moreover, Fikri added, the Kanguruhan Tragedy can be categorized as one of the biggest humanitarian tragedys in world football history. To date, a total of 133 people have died from the tragedy, 44 of which are children and toddlers. "I see it is inappropriate to celebrate this tragedy in such a way, in the middle of the graves of the victims who have not dried up, and some of the victims who are still struggling for their lives in the hospital," concluded Fikri.
The tragedy occurred after the Arema FC vs Persebaya match in Surabaya on Saturday, October 1 night. In that incident, there were 708 victims. With details of the victims as many as 133 people died and 575 were injured.
