There Are 36 Disaster Prone Points That Have Been Mapped By KAI Daop Semarang

PT KAI Daop 4 Semarang, Central Java, has mapped 36 disaster-prone points spread across various regions and needs attention when entering the rainy season.

Head of PT KAI Daop 4 Semarang Wisnu Pramudo in a press release in Semarang, Wednesday, said the vulnerable points consisted of floods, landslides, and subsidences.

Mapping of these disaster-prone points, he said, had been carried out and followed up by alerting officers and equipment.

"Officers were alerted for 24 hours to monitor disaster-prone points," he said, Wednesday, October 19, quoted from Antara.

In addition, PT KAI also alerted equipment and materials at 22 points around the nearest station and areas that were prone to disasters.

"We have prepared sand bags, rail pads, and iron pedicabs to hold the rail foundation," he added.

He added that routine inspections of rail lines were also carried out to anticipate unwanted things that endanger train travel.

He said that one of the hydrometeorological disaster threats that received attention was flooding.

According to him, there are six flood-prone points that need to be watched out for because they are feared to disrupt train travel.

He added that efforts to clean waterways around the tracks were also carried out, including strengthening the foundation of the rails.
