Student Cooperation With Disaster Response BPBD In Bogor

BOGOR - Students of the Muhammadiyah University FISIP Communication Science study program, Prof. Dr. HAMKA (Uhamka) carried out a disaster emergency response with the Bogor City BPBD through a number of humanitarian projects.

"This humanitarian project is a follow-up to cooperation in Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) activities, especially in the field of communication with the development of disaster mitigation creative content in digital media," said Bogor City Secretary Syarifah Sofiah Dwikorawati in his statement, Sunday, October 16.

He added that at this time it was not only the apparatus that had to help, but also the community to jointly make themselves ready to face disasters.

The cooperation in the field of humanitarian projects is a follow-up to the signing of a memorandum of understanding, signed by the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Uhamka Political Sciences, Dra Tellys Corliana MHum, with the Head of the Bogor City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Teofilo Patrocinio Freitas, SSTP MSI.

"Hopefully the presence of Uhamka students can help the Bogor City BPBD and build the soul of a humanitarian project fighter," said the Head of the Uhamka Cooperation Unit, Dr. Purnama Syae Purrohman MPd.

Dean of FISIP Uhamka, Tellys Corliana, said that universities have helped a lot in overcoming disasters through humanitarian programs, it's just that the involvement of students is still volunteers and only short-terms.

"With this humanitarian project MBKM activity, it is hoped that it will increase environmental insight and increase social awareness," hoped Tellys.

Head of the Uhamka FISIP Communications Science Study Program (Prodi), Farida Hariyati, said that there were six students who participated in humanitarian projects in the program. Through this collaboration, it is hoped that students will increase their knowledge and concern for others.
