Worried About 19 MTsN Students Traumatized After The Collapsed Wall Killed 3 Students, Kak Seto Did This

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Child Protection Institute (LPAI) Seto Mulyadi conducted trauma healing for students of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri (MTsN) 19 at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 11, South Jakarta.

"The point is, I want to try to awaken them all, manage their emotions so they don't continue to be carried away by feelings of trauma," said the man who is familiarly called Kak Seto, as reported by Antara, Thursday, October 13.

Kak Seto explained the importance of psychomotor activities so that children can move freely by releasing their emotions.

According to him, it is important that this activity is carried out so that children do not just sit and think so that they can come up with thoughts during a disaster that they have seen some time ago.

By gathering together, they are expected to be able to learn socially (social learning) by seeing their friends so that they can stay happy so they can be influenced to feel it.

This activity is fairly simple and easy to do, ranging from singing and exercising until students are able to express their hearts, he said.

"Hopefully all of this can be done, teachers and parents. We just give a recipe on how to make children able to rise again and continue their future," he said.

In this series of activities, LPAI also invites psychologists, the Indonesian Psychological Association (HIMPSI), and alumni of students to jointly combine knowledge about trauma healing.

A number of officers from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) also provided assistance to students by providing games to invite them to sing together.

Heavy rains that took place Thursday afternoon, October 6 caused water to enter the field of MTsN 19 South Jakarta.

The guard wall collapsed on the stage wall where the children played. As a result, three students died and two students were treated.
