Canelojalani Operasi Injury After Partai Ultah Putri

JAKARTA - Mexican boxing star Saul "Canelo" Alvarez successfully defeated Gennady Golovkin by unanimous decision in their third meeting three weeks ago.

His weakness, however, was that at the end of the fight, Canelo admitted that he had to undergo surgery on his left wrist due to injury.

That is, this will keep him out of the ring for about a year. But now it seems he is looking for another alternative to cure his injury.

Canelo will travel to the United States in the next few days to get a second opinion from another doctor.

However, everything shows the fact that he did have to undergo surgery.

"I will evaluate the opinions of two other doctors. We will check what is best for me and complete the operation," he told media quoted by Marca on Thursday.

Canelo will not be in a hurry to undergo surgery. And will wait until after his daughter's 15th birthday party before traveling to the United States.

He is currently in Mexico, resting and enjoying baseball matches. Although it is not yet known when he will undergo surgery, Canelo has set a return date to the ring.

"September (next year) may (return to the ring). We'll see what's best," he concluded.

The Mexican boxer has always been in the spotlight for not wanting to fight other Mexican boxers, such as David Benavidez for example.

Some say Benavidez can beat Canelo. That's why Canelo didn't want to fight him.
