PDIP Calls Megawati And Jokowi's Meeting Yesterday To Discuss The Election, But Not Alluding To Anies NasDem Presidential Candidate
JAKARTA - PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said that PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri and President Joko Widodo held a meeting in Batu, Bogor wrote, West Java, Saturday, October 8. One of the discussions that arose was the issue of the 2024 election.
However, Hasto emphasized that Megawati and Jokowi did not associate the discussion of the 2024 Presidential Election with the declaration of the NasDem Party which carried Anies Baswedan as their presidential candidate.
"It has nothing to do with that (Anies' 2024 presidential candidate declaration)," Hasto told reporters, Sunday, October 9.
Actually, said Hasto, the meeting between Megawati and Jokowi was planned periodically at several locations such as the Merdeka Palace, Bogor Palace, to the Batu Tulis Palace.
There are certain reasons regarding the selection of the location for the meeting between Megawati and Jokowi in Batu Tulis. Several years ago, Megawati made preparations for the presidential nomination of Jokowi, who was still serving as the Governor of DKI, in Batu Tulis.
"So that's somewhere, which has historically been Pak Jokowi's leadership is also very strong. It is this spiritual atmosphere that takes up the fundamental discussion of the nation and state," said Hasto.
Meanwhile, regarding the figures of presidential and vice presidential candidates who will be promoted, Hasto emphasized that PDIP will not carry candidates only for the effect of the tail of a suit for their party.
"The PDI-P nominates leaders with the awareness that leading nations and countries is not lightly responsible. It is necessary to prepare carefully, what is the hope of the people, which will be answered by the PDI-P," said Hasto.
Meanwhile, regarding the names that will be carried by PDIP in the 2024 presidential election, it is entirely Megawati's authority.
"I asked Mrs. Mega, how is the presidential candidacy? Mrs. Mega just replied to being patient. Wait for the time," concluded Hasto.
