5 FIFA And AFC Collaboration Steps With The Indonesian Government For Better National Football

JAKARTA - The International Football Federation (FIFA) has not remained silent in response to the Kanjuruhan Tragedy after the Arema FC vs Persebaya match that killed 131 people. In the aftermath of the tragedy, FIFA did not impose sanctions, instead it will help make improvements.

FIFA will form a transformation team as a form of follow-up to the Kanjuruhan Tragedy. Not working alone, FIFA will cooperate with the Indonesian government and AFC to take collaborative steps for better national football

This was conveyed directly by President Joko Widodo. "FIFA together with the government will form a team for the transformation of Indonesian football," said the President in a press statement from the Merdeka Palace on Friday, October 7 evening.

From the decision to form the transformation team, FIFA conveyed five things that will be the focus of work. These points include a number of things ranging from stadium security standards to Indonesian football match schedules.

The first point that will be focused is related to establishing stadium security standards in all stadiums in Indonesia.

Second, FIFA will focus on establishing a standard protocol system and security procedures carried out by the police based on international security standards.

Third, this transformation team will also conduct socialization and discussions with football clubs in Indonesia, including supporters' representatives for suggestions and input as well as mutual commitments.

Fourth, FIFA and a collaboration team will also arrange a match schedule that takes into account the existing potential risks. Fifth of them will also provide assistance from experts in their fields.

To run this transformation team program, FIFA representatives will have offices in Indonesia for some time. This is a form of seriousness in optimizing the programs that have been launched.

But before that, Jokowi said that FIFA would first send the president, Gianni Infantino, to come to discuss in the near future.

"FIFA will have an office in Indonesia during these processes," said President Jokowi.

"Later, the President of FIFA will come to Indonesia in October or November to discuss with the government," he explained.
