Cases Of Illegal Livestock Still Marak In The National Vessel, NTT Police Failed To Send 40 Animals Last Week
NTT - The East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police thwarted the shipment of 40 illegal cows over the past week. The case of illegal livestock is still rampant in the national cattle barn area.
"As of September 28 to October 1, 2022, there were 40 cows whose shipments were successfully thwarted from NTT," said Head of Public Relations of the NTT Police, Kombes Pol Ariasandy, in Kupang, NTT, quoted from Antara, Monday, October 3.
He explained that 40 cows should have been sent to Bima Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). However, it was successfully thwarted by the Manggarai Police.
The attempt to thwart the illegal cattle shipment was carried out after local officials checked the cattle delivery documents.
The police found that the perpetrator who brought the cow did not have documents related to cow's health, thus violating the law.
"For those who were thwarted on Saturday (1 October) a few days ago, the police received information from local residents," he said.
When arrested, the perpetrator was loading a cow into a sea motorboat. The perpetrator with the initials MS, who is also the owner of the ship, has also been secured by the local police and investigated further.
The former South Central Timor Police Chief (TTS) also appealed to cow entrepreneurs in NTT to always complete documents for sending cows outside the region.
This, he said, is to prevent unwanted things from happening, considering that Indonesia is currently exposed to mouth and nail disease (PMK).
