The Joint Prayers Hold, Madura United Also Asks For Research And Traffic Of A Tragedy Advertisement To Be Carried Out In Accordance With Presidential Instruction
JAKARTA - Management, officials, and representatives of Madura United FC supporters held a joint prayer for the victims of the Kanjuruhan tragedy and a moment of silence at the football club office in Pamekasan, Sunday night.
"Madura United expresses its condolences for the tragedy that occurred at the Kanjuruhan Stadium in Malang, and we hope this incident will be the first and last in Indonesian football," said Director of PT Polana Bola Madura Bersatu (PBMB) Zia Ul Haq, quoted by Antara, Sunday.
He stated that the tragedy of Kanjuruhan that had killed hundreds of people should not be repeated.
For Madura United, continued Zia, the value of humanity is more valuable than just entertainment, and therefore, his party requested that the complete investigation of the tragedy must be carried out in accordance with the President's instructions.
Apart from management representatives, joint prayers and a moment of silence at the football club office nicknamed 'Laskar Sape Kerrap' were also attended by representatives of club supporters, Chairman of the Match Implementing Committee (Panpel) Moh Alwi and Security Coordinator of Satpo Wayono, and Pamekasan Regent Baddrut Tamam. Everyone wears black clothes.
The riot at the Kanjuruhan Stadium began when some of Aremania's supporters burst into the field area after Arema FC lost. Persebaya players immediately left the field and Kanjuruhan Stadium used four police cars, barracuda. Meanwhile, several Arema FC players who were still on the field were then attacked by players.
The riots grew when people threw flares and other objects. Security officers tried to dispel the fans, then fired tear gas in the field. The tear gas shot left many supporters fainting and difficulty breathing.
The number of supporters who fainted caused panic in the stadium area. The number of supporters who need medical assistance is not comparable to the number of medical personnel who were alerted at the Kanjuruhan Stadium.
Meanwhile, based on the latest data, it was stated that 125 people died as a result of the tragedy at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang Regency, East Java, while 323 were injured.
