Airlangga Condolences Deeply Over The Malang Tragedi
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Golkar Party DPP Airlangga Hartarto expressed his deep condolences for the tragedy that occurred at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang, East Java.
The tragedy of the riots in Liga 1 match became the worst record in the history of national football.
Based on the authorities' report, as of Sunday, October 2, 127 people had died due to riots after the Arema Vs Persebaya football match.
"I express my deepest condolences to all national football people, and the Indonesian people for the tragedy of the riots at the Kanjuruhan Stadium. Football was originally entertainment to enjoy, not to become a humanitarian tragedy," said Airlangga in a statement, Sunday.
Ketum Golkar asked all authorities to thoroughly investigate the tragedy that resulted in deep sorrow for national football personnel and the world. Especially in the security procedures and safety of football audiences in stadiums.
Airlangga also asked all parties in carrying out the full responsibility match for the conditions and impacts caused by this riot.
"There should be no blaming each other, those who exist must be chivalrous, feel the most wrong themselves, so that a tragedy like this does not happen again in the future in our national football," said Airlangga.
The Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs appealed to all football supporters in Indonesia to join hands, and one determination to advance national football.
Airlangga appealed not to let matches on the field become hate between consumers.
He instructed Golkar cadres in Malang and East Java to move to help all victims.
"I instruct Golkar cadres in Malang, surrounding areas, and East Java, to be ready to move to help the victims. Help with what can be helped, the important thing is to show concern as fellow human beings, because the incident at the Kanjuruhan Stadium is a world football tragedy," said Airlangga.
Previously, the riots occurred after the Arema Vs Persebaya match at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang. The match which ended with Persebaya's 3-2 victory began to riot after the match when Aremania entered the field. The condition became out of control which resulted in at least 127 people dying until Sunday morning.
