PSSI Larang Arema FC So Host To Liga 1 Indonesia 2022-2023 Done

JAKARTA - PSSI forbade Arema FC to host the 2022-2023 Indonesian League 1 season after the riots took place at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang Regency, Saturday, October 1, after Arema against Persebaya.

"The Arema FC team is prohibited from hosting the remainder of the competition this season," said PSSI General Chair Mochamad Iriawan, quoting Antara, Sunday, October 1.

Iriawan said PSSI regretted the incident which was said to have caused casualties.

PSSI has formed an investigative team that immediately left for Malang to find a complete picture of the incident.

Iriawan also emphasized support for the police to investigate the riots.

"We condolences and apologize to the victim and all parties for the incident," said Iriawan.

PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) itself has decided on the Indonesian League 1 this season for one week after the riots.
