Receive PMN IDR 10 Trillion, PLN Focuses on Building Electricity Infrastructure in 3T Regions
JAKARTA - PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) or PLN has officially received state capital participation (PMN) in 2023 of IDR 10 trillion.
This PMN will be focused on increasing the development of electricity infrastructure in the outermost, remote, and underdeveloped areas (3T).
"We at PLN, PMN is used to provide electricity, especially for our brothers and sisters in the 3T area, which is actually to fulfill social justice for the people of Indonesia, in 3T borders, in the interior of Papua so that they can have the same electricity network and access as us in other areas", said PLN Distribution Director, Adi Priyanto, during the 'Ngopi Bareng BUMN' event, Thursday, September 29.
Adi said the electrification ratio in Indonesia was still at 97.4 percent as of June 2022. Even in some areas in Papua, Maluku, and NTT, the electrification ratio was still below 95 percent. This is because the investment in electricity infrastructure development in the 3T area is very expensive.
Adi said, to connect the network in 3T areas in the regions of Java, Bali, and Madura, on average, it requires IDR 45 million per subscriber. Then for Sumatra, and Kalimantan, IDR 35 million per customer.
Adi detailed the allocation of PMN usage of IDR 10 trillion for PLN. First, IDR 1.7 trillion is used for the development of power plants in the 3T area.
"If the area is very remote, it is impossible to reach the PLN network, we will take advantage of priority local resources there. If there is potential for micro-hydro, we will build a small hydropower plant. If there are no resources at all, we are forced to generate PLTS. Even though the limitations are many", he explained.

Second, Adi continued, the use of PMN PLN for the construction of transmission and substations in the 3T area with an allocation of Rp3.7 trillion.
Adi said, building a network to customers' homes requires transmission and substations.
Finally, the use of PMN to build a village electricity distribution network amounted to IDR 4.4 trillion.
Adi added that there needs to be a large allocation for planting electricity poles and pulling low-voltage network cables in the 3T area.
"We will break down PMN receipts in 2023 for the construction of a power plant of IDR 1.7 trillion, then to build transmissions and substations of IDR 3.7 trillion, to build a distribution network of IDR 4.4 trillion, and a total of approximately IDR 10 trillion, my report is like that", he explained.
