Nam Goong Min and Jin A-Reum first met in the 2015 film Light My Fire. In that film, Nam Goong Min plays the director and Jin A-Reum becomes the artist of the film.

The two then openly disclosed their relationship in 2016. During the 2021 MBC Entertainment Awards, Nam Goong Min also openly spoke about his lover in his award speech.
