Anies Claims Taman Ismail Marzuki Not To Look For Untung, But Artists Call The Cost Of The Tembus Show Building Rp. 185 Million
JAKARTA - Taman Care Artist Forum Ismail Marzuki (FSPTIM) remains concerned about TIM's commercialization after revitalization. DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan claims TIM will not become the object of commercialization.
The FSPTIM representative, Mogan Pasaribu, revealed that his party received information that the rental price for the Graha Bhakti Culture show building reached hundreds of millions of rupiah. This tariff is set by the BUMD PT Jakarta Propertindo as the manager of TIM.
"It has become widely discussed, the Graha Bahkti Budaya building is new, it is said that the rental is set at a rate of Rp. 185 million per eight hours," Mogan said in his statement, quoted on Saturday, September 24.
According to Mogan, the rental price is very unreasonable. Although, currently Graha Bhakti Budaya has been rebuilt with more modern facilities.
"Meanwhile, it is said that the art building will also be opened for weddings, wedding celebrations, political party birthday celebrations, and so on, which are not related to art matters," said Mogan.
Therefore, FSPTIM does not accept the issuance of Governor Regulation Number 63 of 2019 concerning Assignment to PT Jakarta Propertindo for the Revitalization of the Jakarta Arts Center for Taman Ismail Marzuki.
This governorship regulation gave PT Jakpro the authority to design, build, and manage the TIM area for 28 years. The problem is, Mogan said that Jakpro does not involve artists in the development planning process to TIM management.
"The reckless and reckless governors whose preparation does not involve artists who understand very well about past mistakes in handling TIM, and understand very well what they really need," he said.
Yesterday, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan emphasized that this revitalized TIM was not a place to seek profit for his staff.
Although currently TIM is managed by PT Jakarta Propertindo, Anies said that the BUMD belonging to the DKI Provincial Government does not commercialize the operation of the arts and cultural center.
This was conveyed by Anies in the public opening of TIM and the inaugural performance of Graha Bhakti Budaya after several years of closure as a result of revitalization.
"This is an art facility managed by BUMD that is not intended to seek profit. Because it is the government's business entity that can carry out activities for community benefit purposes carried out by the community with good management principles, but not as a place to make a profit," said Anies at TIM, Central Jakarta, Thursday, September 23.
