Bima Arya Asks Rizieq Shihab For Swab Test: He Is Cipika-Cipiki With Many People

JAKARTA - The Mayor of Bogor, Bima Arya, admitted that he had asked the Bogor UMMI Hospital to conduct a swab test for the leader of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), Muhammad Rizieq Shihab. It is known that Rizieq is being treated at the UMMI Bogor Hospital.

Bima said, although he did not experience similar symptoms of corona virus infection, Rizieq still had to be swabbed because he had interacted with many people.

"I have asked Habib Rizieq to be swab immediately. Even though he has no symptoms, he is interacting with many people," Bima told VOI, Thursday, November 26.

According to Bima, the examination of Rizieq was necessary to ensure the safety of the medical team who treated him at the hospital. This is because the potential for COVID-19 transmission exists because several people who interacted with Rizieq have tested positive for COVID-19.

"There have been many positives. This is important for the assurance and safety of the medical team. I have asked the hospital leadership immediately," he said.

However, Bima does not yet know whether Rizieq is willing to be tested by PCR or not. "I'm still waiting for his response," he added.

Based on information obtained by Bima, Rizieq was treated at the Bogor Ummi Hospital since yesterday due to fatigue. Rizieq's health condition is currently quite good, but it will still be further examined by the hospital.

"He has been examined, and so far his health condition is good. But it will continue to be observed," said Bima.

At present, Bima said that Rizieq had not carried out a COVID-19 swab test because he did not experience symptoms of the corona virus. However, Rizieq currently does not want to be visited by other people.

"According to the hospital, he asked not to be visited because he wanted to rest," he said.

For information, as many as 80 people in the Rizieq Shihab crowd of activities in the Petamburan and Tebet areas of Jakarta, were confirmed positive for COVID-19. This amount was recorded on November 22.

Acting Director General of Disease Prevention and Control at the Ministry of Health, Budi Hidayat, said that the results of the PCR test conducted by the Ministry of Health contained 50 positive cases of COVID-19 in Tebet and 30 cases in Petamburan in the crowd.

In addition, data on PCR tests carried out in regional health laboratories until November 21, 2020 are also still waiting for the results of 15 cases originating from a crowd that occurred in Megamendung Bogor, West Java.

"The crowd at the activities carried out in the context of religious and wedding ceremonies, the Ministry of Health appealed to anyone who participated and anyone who felt close contact with the people present to carry out independent isolation for 14 days," said Budi.
