Mardani Maming Is Suspected Of Appointing Trustees To Be Directors At Mining Companies

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that former Tanah Bumbu Regent Mardani H. Maming has appointed his confidant as company director. He is suspected of controlling a number of mining companies in Tanah Bumbu Regency.

Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri said this allegation was investigated by examining a witness, namely the former Director of PT Permata Abadi, Wawan Surya. The examination was carried out on Thursday, September 15 yesterday.

"Hadir and confirmed, among other things, related to the alleged role of the suspect MM to control several mining companies in Tanah Bumbu through the appointment of several trusted people as company directors," Ali said in a written statement, Friday, September 16.

In addition, investigators are also investigating the bribes received by Mardani. It is suspected that the receipt was related to the processing of permits in Tanah Bumbu Regency.

Actually, the KPK will also examine two other witnesses, namely Erno Rudi Handoko and Mujianto who are retirees. However, Ali said both were not present.

"The two witnesses did not attend and the summons would soon be conveyed by the investigative team," he said.

As previously reported, PK has detained Mardani H. Maming as a suspect in alleged bribery and gratification of mining business permits in Tanah Bumbu Regency. He was named a suspect in the recipient.

Meanwhile, as the giver, Hendry Soetio, who is the controller of PT Prolindo Cipta Nusantara (PCN), was declared dead.

Even though he died, the KPK ensured that investigators had received evidence related to Mardani's acceptance. The former General Treasurer of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) is suspected of receiving money from Hendry from 2014 to 2020 reaching Rp. 104.3 billion which was received through trusted people and their companies.
