JAKARTA - The Sinjai Police, South Sulawesi, has arrested a State Civil Apparatus (ASN) with the initials Al regarding a video recording of a woman's motorbike kicking her to the ground. This video has recently gone viral on social media
"We have secured the person concerned. Now he has been temporarily detained at the Sinjai Police Station," said Head of Investigation and Crime at the Sinjai Police, AKP Syaruddin when confirmed by reporters, Thursday, September 15, quoted from Antara.
He said that although the alleged perpetrator had been arrested, his party had not yet carried out an examination because they were still waiting for an official police report from the victim regarding the incident.
"Members contacted (victims) last night to ask for a report. But the information is still waiting for their parents to arrive, traveling from Makassar," he said.
The suspect was arrested to avoid unwanted things in the aftermath of the accident. From the 16-second viral video footage, it can be seen that the suspect got out of his car after seeing the victim fall after hitting the bumper of his vehicle.
The incident took place on Jalan Raya Bhayangkara in front of the HM Tahir shower, North Sinjai District, on Tuesday at around 15.30 WITA. Seen, the suspect stood in front of his car and scolded the victim when he lifted his motorbike, then got emotional and then kicked the victim's motorbike.
The condition of the motorbike was on at that time, so that the position of the victim who was already on the motorbike without a helmet spontaneously held the motorcycle gas immediately stepped on the gas and finally swayed and fell back onto the asphalt.
Confirmed separately, the Regent of Sinjai Andi Seto Gandista Asapa confirmed that he had known about the incident. He also ordered the inspectorate to immediately conduct an examination of Al regarding the embarrassing incident.
"Yes, that's right, I have ordered the inspectorate to examine the person concerned, including that he will impose sanctions or punishments for his actions," Seto told reporters.
Head of Dispora Sinjai, Hamsir Ahmad, was also confirmed by telephone to say that what his subordinates did did did did not reflect his behavior as a state apparatus. He was surprised after seeing the video went viral, that Al's personality contradicted what he had seen so far.
"Today, he gave permission not to enter because he is still undergoing legal proceedings at the Sinjai Police. It has been (handled) by the inspectorate. Light to severe sanctions are the inspectorate's decision," he said.
