Exports In August Grow 9.17 Percent Compared To July, Touch A Figure Of 27.9 Billion Dollars
JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) stated that Indonesia's exports throughout August 2022 were US$27.9 billion.
Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics BPS Setianto said this value grew 9.17 percent month to month (mtm) compared to exports in July 2022 which amounted to 25.5 billion US dollars.
"When compared to August 2021 (year on year/yoy) the export value increased by 30.15 percent, which at that time was US$21.4 billion," he said when holding a press conference on Thursday, September 15.
According to Setianto, this slick performance was supported by non-oil and gas exports which grew 8.24 percent mtm to 26.19 billion US dollars.
Meanwhile, on an annual basis, non-oil and gas exports grew 28.39 percent from the previous US$20.4 billion in August 2021.
"Cumulatively, the value of Indonesia's exports from January to August 2022 reached US$194.6 billion, an increase of 35.42 percent compared to the same period in 2021. Meanwhile, non-oil and gas exports reached 183.73 billion, an increase of 35.24 percent," he said.
Setianto explained that the largest increase in exports was contributed by animal/vegetable fat and oil commodities.
While the largest decline occurred in mineral fuels.
The largest non-oil and gas exports in August 2022 were to China at 6.16 billion US dollars, followed by the United States at 2.59 billion US dollars and India at 2.47 billion US dollars, with the third contribution reaching 42.84 percent.
Then, for exports to ASEAN and the European Union (27 countries) each amounted to 4.77 billion US dollars and 2.30 billion US dollars.
According to the province of origin, Indonesia's largest exports in January-August 2022 came from West Java with a value of 6.02 billion US dollars (13.37 percent), East Kalimantan 23.41 billion US dollars (12.03 percent), and East Java 16.96 billion US dollars (8.71 percent).
