Puji Assist Lionel Messi Untuk Kylian Mbappe, Gary Lineker: Tua-Tua Keladi

JAKARTA Former England international Gary Lineker praised the assists made by Lionel Messi for Kylian Mbappe as Paris Saint Germain (PSG) beat Maccabi Haifa.

Messi also contributed one goal when PSG won 3-1 over the host of the Israeli representative in the second match of Group H of the 2022/2023 European Champions League at the Sammy Ofer Stadium on Thursday, September 15 in the morning WIB.

"Another assist for Kylian Mbappe's goal. Another goal was made by Messi, who has recorded more assists in 2022 from any player in Europe's top five leagues. Parents are tough," Lineker tweeted on his Twitter account while emojiing the goat emoji (GOAT).

Messi scored the equaliser in the 37th minute after the hosts took the lead through Tjaronn Chery's goal in the 24th minute.

He then created an assist for Mbappe after halftime to bring Les Parisien back ahead. Neymar then added a goal for the French giant two minutes before the normal time of the game was over.

A goal against Maccabi Haifa made Messi the first player to score in 18 consecutive seasons in the European Champions League since the 2005/2006 season.

"Messi scored for the 18th season in a row in the European Champions League. Yes, eighth," Lineker wrote in another tweet.

In addition to that record, Messi also made history through his rival Cristiano Ronaldo as the first player to score goals against 39 different teams in the event.

He passed Ronaldo, who is currently only breaking into 38 different teams. Messi has a chance to stay away because this season Ronaldo only plays in the Europa League with Manchester United.

Currently La Pulga has collected a total of 126 goals in the European Champions League. He is 14 goals adrift of Ronaldo, who has top the list of the most goalscorers in history.
